B 4 & after

It may not mean everything to my cosy bunch of readers. It may excite some who have actually visited. It means our whole world to us.

This was the outside alcove where the previous owner, wee Migel, would, he said, have his breakfast. Now it's an inside alcove with our plasma TV and a sofa/cama which provides an extra bedroom when we have lots of visitors together. Some of you will understand why it's sometimes referred to as "Alcove's alcove".

"The archways" were open to the elements, too damn hot in the Summer and too bloddy cold in the Winter. The original tiling looked pretty, but when it came down to it, it was, well, crap. Enclosed by cutom-made glass doors, it's now our dining room and, for part of the year, our breakfast area. Bit illegal, those doors, because we're not supposed to have habitable space within 3 metres of nextdoor's. As far as the planning authorities are concerned, it's a pergola!
The views from the front gate probably make the point better:

If you can stand it, more to follow. Gonna have a Torres 10 now to recover.

Alkie's labour of love

As I have said elsewhere, Alkie bit off more than he really wanted to chew. But he started, so he finished. Never liked the yellow wall:

And this was the result - a beautiful bloo:

More B4&AFTER images will follow in due course!
