Mahjong & petanca continued

A little gentle exercise on the beach in the form of petanca - Dan knocked Helen and Judy into a cocked hat, as they say
.

Exercising the brain is also de rigueur here. After playing many times over the years, we're just getting the hang of mahjong. No problem playing - it's the scoring!!!

More or less taxing than Reminisce? Who can tell?

Mazarron might be a funny old place but, when you ride out for meal in the evening on your bicycle, this is what you might get. Not bad, eh?

Mahjong & petanca

"I think Helen is saying "Good fish soup" during her and Daniel's recent visit to lovely but scruffy little Mazarron.

It seems that Terry agrees - "Can't waste that scrumptious liquid."

Excellent fish, too. Wow!
And the pudding seems to have gone down rather well as well, with more unacceptable behaviour from my family.

Of course, no family visit would be complete without a visit to ChrisnBev's. Try keeping them out of my website - I don't think so. Smashing BBQ and, as always, smashing company.

But it wasn't all eatin', honest! The weather was quite kind and there was lots of messin' about in the sea and getting brown.

Continued . . .

The final image

Thank you for the fish! Or, as they say in Scandinavia, 'Tak for sisten. Tak for selskapet.'

We actually got the waiter to take the pic - now there's a cliche, what? (l-r the incredible Dom, the redoubtable Prit, the enigmatic Elena, the smiley Judy & Terry and the indomitable Carole.)

. . . continued

Sorry the continuation of this epic has been delayed, the reasons for which are booooring! The crazy so-called 'escuela equestre', or whatever it was billed as in the official town guide, actually sent the foals of the two mares Jo and Kat were riding to greet them on their return. Health, Safety & Environment officers, don't read on. It had to be Jo's foal, of course! It tried to feed from its Mum, which is what foals do and which probably shot Jo out of the saddle even further than on the rest of the excursion. Mum didn't want to know and so it (the foal) stood in front of Jo and her mount and kicked its mother in the face. Jo came out of this experience with a smile and she and Kat with an unexpected suntan and raging thirst; when they started off at 6pm it was cloudy - then the sun came out!!

Anyway, that concludes the scary but manageable experience for Kat and the challenge Jo faced. (Having said she'd never do it again, Jo said to Kathryn that she might - under different circumstances, of course.)

But what about that Bernie? Sorry, Bernie, but you did refuse high factors suggested by Kat, we seem to remember, and you did get a little little bit burnt. Hope it wasn't terminal.

Bernie did find refuge in Jilly Cooper - click to enlarge the picture!

We had a lovely time with Jo, Kat and Bernie. Thank you for the flowers xxxx

But who are those 'others' in my title to the previous page?

Here are (l-r) Elena and Corole.

and (l-r) Dom and Prit.

Another, very unexpected and lovely, time was had by me, Judy, and 'im with this quartet.

I hope you four enjoyed funny little Puerto de Mazarron and its beach. And I'm sorry we couldn't join you later in the week at The Beach of the Dead. The will is always willing but sometimes the flesh is a little weaker. There is one more image I want to upload and Blogger won't let me . . . it shall be done, but probably on a new page.
