Jo, Kat, Bernie and the others
Well, the first thing that Jo has to do when she comes here is eat oysters. So we have to indulge her. But oysters for starters AND for pudding? You never know - next time she comes, the Miramar will probably have them on the 'postre' menu.
Other predictable stuff - I hope my happy band of readers is not getting bored with the guns. But actually I think Kathryn and Bernie enjoyed them - as well as Jo for the umpteenth time. And Kathryn actually didn't mind getting dirty. That's a first, I'm told.
Now, this is not unusual - Kathryn on a horse. This lovely grey was her first mount, but she ended up on a different steed. This one turned out to be lame and I don't think we'll go into the condition of the horses, because it could be upsetting. The main thing is that Kat enjoyed her ride, even if riding up the rocks at Bolnuevo, sans the usual safety gear, was a bit scary.
But what's this?
Jo, who decided to accompany Kathryn, doesn't look too sure about the whole thing. But she soon looked confident. As always, you can click to enlarge these pics, if you want to see Jo's face!
Good onyer, Jo!Despite the vicissitudes of Telefonica and Blogger, publish and be damned! To be continued . . .
. . . continued

Sorry, to everyone who might be remotely interested, but Blogger has been unkind to me over the last few days and wouldn't let me upload pics - and what's the point of this website if it's not pics?
To continue the saga of Irene's birthday, here are some of the other guests - Jose and Fina!
Jose, having borrowed Jo's gueetar, was having great fun.
And so was his other singing partner, Terrrrry (that's how they pronounce him in Spanish).
You must have been waiting for ages for granddaughter Maxie & boyf Tony to make their entrance! Well, here they are. Honoured guests, as we all were, of ChrisnBev.
And they pretty much did all the things that are 'mas o menos' 'de rigueur' when yer come here, like swimming in the sea, doing the guns, biking out to dinner so that there's no driver who has to abstain, and eating icecream at the 'Hasslehof' cafe at Cartagena harbour:

But there are some things that Maxie and/or Tony did that are not obligatory - like making friends with one of our favourite plants and giving it a Hi 5 every morning, or getting a (henna) tattoo at the night market:

We love you both. Thanks for coming and sorry I have been tardy with my report. Next chapter will be Jo, Kathryn & Bernie . . .
Maxie, Tony & Irene
To the left of this picture is Steve. He'd come specially all the way from Oz to help celebrate Irene's (his mother's) 80th Birthday. And what do you think she, Irene (to the right of the picture), is making of his speech? The expression on her face, I would say, is somewhat inscrutable, eh?
Actually, the speech was great but, if there were any shortcomings at all, they were made up for by the filial kiss.

It fell to Rose to propose the toast.
Hospitality was, once again, the key. A wonderful spread provided by ChrisnBev.
A quick scan round the table reveals:

Irene's grandson Tom and 'novia' Clare, who were great company.
Blogger will not upload any more images tonite, it seems - to be continued . . .
