Get the jizz

According to our illustrious visitor, John, you have to get the jizz. And we have. Here are just some of the birds we can recognise just from the way they fly and behave.
First up is the Bee Eater. See them on telegraph wires as you drive along. Smashing!
Then the Booted Eagle
and the Crested Lark -
an unassuming little bird, quite rare, according to John, in the UK. We saw several yesterday, but nonetheless charming for being relatively common here.
And this unbelievable little chap, the Hoopoe, was to be seen just a few hours ago on nextdoor's TV aerial. As close as that. Wow!
The Serin and Sardinian Warbler (who doesn't seem to want to upload but has a black head and a red eye) live in our garden. And finally for now . . .
John was lucky to see the stilt here. It was temporarily resident until the standing water on the spare ground up the road finally dried out this week. And the mosquitoes stopped breeding there too. Thank goodness. Terry had nearly run out of Deet.
